ARTAS Robotic Hair Transplantation In Virginia Beach

Washington Medical Hair Clinics is the first to bring the ARTAS® Robotic Assisted FUE (Follicular Unit Extraction) procedure to our Virginia Beach, Hampton Roads Hair Clinic for hair transplant and restoration treatments. The ARTAS® Robotic Assisted FUE is the latest technology in hair transplant surgery. We are also the first to receive the Prestigious Center of Excellence Award from Restoration Robotics in the Chesapeake Virginia, New Port News and Norfolk area.

The ARTAS® procedure is a computer-assisted, image-guided and doctor controlled robot for use with a FUE Hair Transplant. The ARTAS® System uses sophisticated imaging technology to map out the follicular units on your head. It then chooses the optimal grafts to extract with precision before quickly and carefully harvesting each individual follicular unit of one, two, three, or even four hairs.

We guide the ARTAS® through the entire FUE procedure before the grafts are removed and placed in the exact angle and pattern of your natural hair growth. The result is a natural looking head of hair with minimal downtime.

Lateral Slit Hair Transplantation In Hampton Roads VA

Lateral slits (also called coronal or horizontal slits). Lateral slits allow for the advantage of orienting the hair within the follicular unit to match the way it grows in nature. It will allow for the highest degree of control over the direction and angle in which the transplanted hairs will ultimately grow.

Follicular units placed in lateral slits will provide more coverage than those placed in vertical slits, as the hair tends to fan out over the surface of the scalp rather than lying on top of one another. Lateral slits also help to angle the grafts more acutely and to follow the natural angle of the patient’s original hair. This is particularly important at the temples, in the crown, side burn areas and in eyebrow restoration.

To create the recipient sites, we use a variety of instruments depending upon the clinical situation. In all hair transplants, the goal during the procedure is to create a snug fit between the follicular unit and the skin surrounding the graft. This will maximize oxygenation of the grafts, promote healing and increase graft survival. Tiny recipient sites also helps to ensure that there will be no visible scarring, pitting or other surface irregularities as a result of the hair restoration procedure.

What Is The Automated Follicular Unit Extraction Hair Transplant System (FUE)?

Before Automated Follicular Unit Extraction Systems (FUE), traditional hair transplantation required removing a large “donor site” from the back of the patient’s scalp or spending hours harvesting individual hair follicles manually. The new system uses the most advanced instruments available to successfully extract hair follicles without the drawbacks of traditional hair restoration procedures. Follicular Unit Extractions eliminates the need for the surgical removal of a strip of skin from the back of the head and instead extracts individual hair follicles, one by one, to reduce recovery time and the risk of complications with a very impressive success rate. By automating the follicle extraction process, the system also decreases procedure time and costs.

Advantages Of The Automated Follicular Unit Extraction Hair Transplant System
Benefits of this system compared to traditional hair transplants

  • Local anesthesia only
  • No scalpel, no stitches
  • Fewer complications
  • No linear scarring
  • Less activity restrictions and recovery time after the procedure
  • Faster treatment time

Eyebrow Restoration At Virginia Beach office Washington Medical Hair Clinics

The procedure itself takes approximately 3-4 hours. Hair for the eyebrow is taken from the back of the head by removing a small amount of hair containing tissue. The hair containing follicles are then microscopically dissected away from the surrounding tissue. Great care is taken while creating the graft to preserve the integrity of the follicle. The brow area is prepared and the hair grafts are then placed into tiny recipient sites. Both the donor area and recipient areas heal very quickly. Stitches from the donor area are removed in 7-10 days, or you may elect for the new FUE donor harvesting which requires absolutely no stitches. There may be some swelling and, rarely, bruising in the brow area after the surgery. Contact our Virginia Beach clinic for Washington Medical Hair Clinics Today for eyebrow restoration.

Laser Hair Therapy Is An Innovative Approach To Hair Loss In Virginia Beach

Just because hair loss is something that most men go through – and an alarming number of women as well – that doesn’t mean that you have to accept it.

There are countless shampoos and topical solutions that are designed to treat hair loss, but they aren’t necessarily clinical-strength products, not all guarantee results, and not all of them protect you from painful or embarrassing side effects. Reversing and stopping hair loss requires an innovative approach.

A new technology that both men and women are drawn to is one that uses a combination of low-level lasers and LED lights, and has revolutionized hair rejuvenation. Low-level laser therapy has been shown to stop the appearance of hair loss and help rejuvenate hair for anyone with genetic forms of hair loss, such as male/female pattern baldness. Studies proved that hair responds best to red light in the 650 to 670 nanometer wavelength range, and tests have shown that pulsing light can enhance the effectiveness of low-level laser therapy.

A technology that was once available only in a doctor’s office can now be used in the comfort of your home with the iGrow; the world’s most advanced hands-free, laser hair-rejuvenation system. The iGrow can help you attain thicker, fuller hair almost effortlessly, right at home, thanks to improved technology, which made this affordable and practical solution possible. Available exclusively at Our Washington Medical Hair Clinic in Virginia Beach, Hampton Roads office. Call us 757-693-5323 or click here to find out how we can help you have the hair you desire.

Latisse Tested as Hair Loss Treatment in Virginia Beach

Hot on the heels of fuller eyelashes becoming a trend in cosmetic treatments, according to the New York Times, Latisse, a topical treatment that can help you grow fuller lashes is being tested as a treatment for patients with Alopecia in our Virginia Beach office. We serve patients in Norfolk, Chesapeake, New Port News, Williamsburg, Suffolk, Hampton Roads, and Tidewater. Please contact our local office for more information regarding hair loss treatment.
Though many individuals use Latisse to attain “disco-ready lashes without using falsies,” the new clinical trials being conducted by Allergan, the company that produces Latisse, may prove the product’s effectiveness north of the brow line.

The study, which includes both men and women and is due to be completed in February, is working to determine whether bimatoprost, the ingredient in Latisse that promotes eyelash growth, can also work as a hair loss treatment, according to clinicaltrials.gov.

As it is traditionally applied, Latisse prolongs the growth cycle of your lashes. Due to this lengthened growth cycle, your lashes can grow longer and in greater number.

What is Follicular Unit Hair Transplants (FUT)

Follicular Unit Transplantation (FUT) is a procedure in which hair is transplanted from a permanent zone, the area in the back and sides of the scalp where hair is more resistant to balding, to the bald or balding areas of the scalp. This is accomplished using naturally occurring groups of 1, 2, 3, or 4 hairs, these are known as follicular units. After the patient’s scalp is anesthetized by the Surgeon, the Surgeon removes a strip of tissue from the donor area, an area within the permanent zone. Once extracted, the donor strip is cut into multiple individual Follicular units using microscopic dissection techniques. As these Follicular unit grafts are being prepared by our highly skilled & experienced techs at Washington Hair Medical Clinic Virginia Beach office, tiny little pricks in the scalp are made, called recipient sites, where the grafts are placed.

The arrangement and positioning of these Follicular Unit Grafts determines the aesthetic qualities of a hair transplant, and so this arrangement must be decided on a case-by-case basis, depending on the patients’ history of hair loss and likelihood of future hair loss. Because Follicular Unit Transplants mimic the way hair grows in nature, the results, in expert hands, will look completely natural and be indistinguishable from one’s original hair. See some of these results during your free initial consultation in our Virginia Beach Office.
