The ARTAS® procedure is a computer-assisted, image-guided and doctor controlled robot for use with a FUE Hair Transplant. The ARTAS® System uses sophisticated imaging technology to map out the follicular units on your head. It then chooses the optimal grafts to extract with precision before quickly and carefully harvesting each individual follicular unit of one, two, three, or even four hairs.
We guide the ARTAS® through the entire FUE procedure before the grafts are removed and placed in the exact angle and pattern of your natural hair growth. The result is a natural looking head of hair with minimal downtime.

The ARTAS® procedure is FDA-cleared for light skinned and dark haired men. Therefore, in some cases, men with light hair will be asked to dye their hair darker on the day of their scheduled ARTAS® Robotic Assisted FUE procedure for optimum results. This can be done by us the morning you arrive.
After your ARTAS® Robotic Assisted FUE procedure, the donor region will be mostly healed after one week with improvement of hair growth in the recipient area in as little as six to twelve months.
As a final consideration, you should be aware that not all patients are candidates for the ARTAS® Robotic Assisted FUE.
Not all of your hair is subject male pattern baldness. For most people, the hair on the sides and back of the scalp is permanent hair. With the help of the ARTAS Robotic System, your physician transplants this permanent hair into thinning areas. Once transplanted, this hair will begin to grow in about four to six months.
Through advanced 3d image processing, ARTAS locates and tracks the precise location of each follicular unit, which is the natural grouping of hair on the scalp. Using sophisticated algorithms, the system can track hundreds of follicular units in real time, while identifying each follicle’s length and angle. Guided by the physician, the system rapidly dissects individual follicular units for transplant. This revolutionary new level of precision allows hair to be removed without the linear scar associated with other transplant procedures. So the patient’s existing hair retains its natural appearance. The hair is then meticulously transplanted by the physician into thinning areas. This hair will begin permanent growth in about six months.
The outpatient procedure generally takes about half a day. A local anesthetic is used, and many patients watch a movie or listen to music during the procedure. Since the procedure is minimally invasive, recovery is quick, and patients often return to work within a few days.
